
Before joining Intel in 1996, Doug was director of the House Science Committee Subcommittee on Technology. Under President George H.W. Bush, he served as deputy and acting commissioner of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Prior to his appointment to the Patent Office, Doug was engaged in private practice serving clients on both legal and legislative matters in the fields of financial services, intellectual property and technology development and commercialization, and served as chief counsel to the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts.
