Shanna, from Intel’s Global Diversity team, wants to meet you as her and the team hit the road!
I practically grew up being dragged to engineering and professional conferences with my parents and like to joke that I was always the youngest exhibitor there. Yes, I was that little girl that you saw on the exhibition floor going around the booths asking for candy as if it were Halloween and desperately hoping to meet one of the hot pink bunny suit characters from the old Intel commercials. I never thought that I would be on the other side of the booth … For the next month and a half my team and I will have our out-of-office notifications on, luggage packed and lattes in hand as we hit the road to attend conventions across the nation. Like any good event host, I would like to extend a personal invitation to come out and meet us on the road.
Who: Intel recruiters, business group representatives (from Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Software, and various Engineering teams), Global Diversity staff and yours truly…and YOU!
What, Where, and When: Conferences for the following national organizations:
Intel’s Great Place to Work program paid for my entry into a half-marathon that falls right in the middle of this exciting event season. Yes, I am planning on running at 3AM PST while in Atlanta this week, but I am not complaining because my teammates promised to run with me. Now that’s teamwork! I guess you can also add the gym and nearest coffee bar to the list of places you can meet us!
Why: We are traveling across the U.S. to meet, recruit, interview and write jobs offers for qualified candidates!
These conventions are really about more than just hiring though, as hundreds of Intel employees are attending for development and networking opportunities. After flipping through the one-inch thick booklet of SWE keynotes, breakout sessions and networking opportunities, I am so excited for the female engineers who are not only attending, but also leading sessions themselves! I have spoken with several of them and the excitement on the other end of the telephone can definitely be described as nothing short of electric!
How to catch us: Swing by our booth, information sessions, breakout sessions hosted by employees, and even hosted breakfasts and lunches! Enjoy a high-tech take on :Where’s Waldo?”, as Intel employees will be walking the floor sporting shirts with QR codes that you can scan and enter a raffle to win a Core i5 laptop!
