From Dublin to Dubai, the labs provide hands-on opportunities to experience the latest IoT technologies, access to matchmaking across the Intel ecosystem, exposure to proofs of concept and use cases from peers, and advice on how to take solutions to market.
Each lab has a showcase area, featuring solution demos and developer kits. The most important focus of the lab turns customer projects into commercial products and revenue. Intensive workshops provide training that covers everything from the Intel IoT Gateway to Hadoop and big data analytics.
Intel IoT Ignition Lab Opens Doors to Collaborative Solutions in Dubai
As home to hundreds of high tech companies, a vibrant startup community and a closely knit ecosystem of tech innovators, UAE took its first step toward becoming a hub for IoT with the launch of an Intel IoT Ignition Lab this year. Hosted within Dubai Silicon Oasis, the region’s largest innovative and integrated free zone technology park, Intel entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly establish a first-of-a-kind lab facility in the Middle East. Turkish Industrial Design Innovations Take Flight at Intel IoT Ignition Lab
Sitting at the crossroads of historic innovations, Istanbul welcomed another step forward in recent years with the opening of an Intel IoT Ignition Lab. The IoT lab came about thanks to a fruitful collaboration among Intel IoT, Intel Labs Europe, and Technology University. Today, it showcases solutions for smart cities, connected retail and smart transportation.
Innovations developed in the Istanbul lab include the Butterfly Dress, powered by Intel Edison; an award-winning 3D-designed splint that has been combined with Intel Edison for monitoring the progress of Cerebral Palsy in a patient’s forearm; and smart wearables for primary schools by Konfides. Ireland’s First Intel IoT Ignition Lab Launches to Showcase Irish Tech Solutions
Springing forth from Intel’s long presence in the Irish tech scene, Intel IoT, Intel Labs Europe, and Irish tech companies celebrated the opening of a new Intel IoT Ignition Lab near Dublin in 2015. The IoT lab in Leixlip, County Kildare, Ireland, showcases innovations built on Intel technology that are focused on the areas of smart homes, smart buildings, smart cities, energy and utilities and smart agriculture.
The lab features demonstrations of existing Intel IoT solutions created by established Irish companies, including Glen Dimplex and Intel’s collaboration on IoT-connected smart grid technologies; Ersúles’ smart lighting solution based on the Intel technologies and Keenan’s agriculture solution that uses Intel IoT tech to connect Irish farms to IoT. IoT in Moscow: Intel Champions Collaborative Russian Tech Innovations
Rooted in a long history of successful collaboration in scientific and technological innovations between Russia and the West, Intel and its ecosystem partners celebrated the opening of a new Intel IoT Ignition Lab in Moscow in 2015. The IoT lab showcases Russian innovations, built on Intel technology, that are improving how people across the globe experience the world around them. The Moscow lab is focused on the areas of smart buildings, smart cities and connected retail solutions.
The Moscow lab features demonstrations of existing Intel IoT solutions, including RTSoft smart energy and transportation solutions using an Intel IoT Gateway based on the Intel Atom E384 processor, and industrial servers using Intel Core I7 processors; Synesis video analytics solutions featuring Intel technologies; and an Auvix digital signage solution with analytics based on Intel Retail Client Manager Software. The IoT lab showcases innovations built on Intel technology that are focused on the areas of retail, transportation, and smart cities, and is a place for British-based companies to innovate, collaborate, and scale out ideas. The lab offers tools, technology, and engineering know-how to those in the industry who are working to take IoT projects into commercial deployment.
The Swindon lab features demonstrations of existing Intel IoT solutions, including Ersúles’ smart lighting solution based on the Intel technologies; MimoCare’s independent living solution using the Intel IoT Gateway; a Siemens smart parking system using Intel technologies; and Cognicity’s asset mapping for smart cities. Intel IoT Ignition Lab in Munich Celebrates its First Year
Building upon a history of efficiency and collaboration with German technology partners, Intel IoT and Intel Labs Europe celebrate the first birthday of the Intel IoT Ignition Lab in Munich in 2015, with a new space and an expansion of services.
During the previous year, the IoT lab showcased German innovations built on Intel technologies that are focused on the areas of smart buildings, energy and utilities, and industrial. Demonstrations of existing Intel IoT solutions on display include Kontron edge devices for industrial environments; Yoga smart home solutions; and E·ON smart grid solutions.
