Can 3-D Worlds Revolutionize Business Meetings & Even Surgery?

posted by Ken Kaplan on September 23, 2007

There’s nothing like being there, except for maybe virtually being there.

During Intel CTO Justin Rattner’s IDF keynote, we got to see live 3-D demonstrations showing how businesses and doctors are turning to virtual worlds.

Imagine meeting your boss and colleagues from other parts of the world. Not on a phone bridge, but in a secure, animated place where you could all talk and share documents, videos and materials.

Or what if your child needed re-constructive surgery. Would it help to see a 3-D animation of how the operation would go, step by step, and how your child might look months after the surgery was done?
