The Intel Developer Forum – Make It *Your* Community

As part of the team that has been working on “IDF San Francisco” for weeks, it’s hard to believe there’s less than a month to go before the conference starts. The excitement is palpable and the anticipation is electrifying. Yes, I am getting carried away a little bit, but that’s easy to do when I think of everything we have in store.

One of the things I’m most excited about is the variety of opportunities for anyone to dive into the community of IDF attendees and watchers. To start with, you can meet hundreds of community members by joining the IDF group on Facebook. Soon you will be able to engage in dialog with one another and with some of our most respected technical experts on this very blog, where you can already view sneak previews of the conference from Pat Gelsinger, Justin Rattner and Rajesh Kumar. You can also begin to follow the IDF account on Twitter, a tool that we and other attendees will use during the conference to provide a play-by-play account of announcements and developments.

If you are one of the people that will be able to join us on site, please make sure to stop by the Upload Lounge – a space on the 3rd floor concourse designed to cater to bloggers & podcasters big and small. The Upload Lounge will feature an area for audio / video recording and livecasting, high-speed ethernet connections, power outlets for your laptop, and plenty of room to… well, lounge. Tech celebrities, keynote guests, and social media experts will drop in throughout the conference to be interviewed and exchange a few words. If you would like to have access to the Upload Lounge, please leave a comment with a link to your blog and we’ll add you to our access list. The first confirmed “lounger” is Steve Paine of UMPC Portal, who will be coming all the way from Germany to attend IDF!

To find out the latest on the Upload Lounge just check blogs.intel.com/tags/uploadlounge, where we will be posting schedules and updates on this topic.

Sounds good. Will mostly be reporting for Australian newspapers and magazines, but will be blogging anything I find interesting that doesn’t fit the briefs the media outlets are looking for.
