Every year when Intel Developer Forum comes to San Francisco, daring and the desire for calculated risk flows through Intel.
We know our friends from around the world are coming to join us, and we like nothing more than to outdo what worked well last time. That’s the spirit of the innovation that keeps driving for improvement. One of the things we’re exploring this year is a way to help teams collaborate and share IDF stories across different Websites, blogs and places we go online. Widget, you say? That’s what we’re exploring this week. Intel Insider Sara Austin has a cool widget on her Pop17 site. She’s fired up about the new lively addition — and it’s portability — so she encouraged us to explore more. I remember posing the idea to Tom Foremski at around Christmas time last year, after running into him on the streets of SOMA, San Francisco. Intel has been a long-time sponsor of SiliconValleyWatcher, so Tom took the idea to Newsgater and created a dynamically updating window that pulls in our latest video and audio stories plus our latest blog posts from our mothership Blogs@Intel. Much livelier than a stagnant or even flipping banner ad. Here’s our test to see how the widget looks inside a blog post. What’s your favorite widget and how might we use one for our cross-team story sharing from IDF?
