很高兴在清晨又能够看到Fab 68的消息，我一直很关注Fab 68，但是不知道我的背景能否在Fab 68找到一个合适的位置。本科半导体专业，在研究所待过，对前端还比较熟悉，但之后4年工作经历是在半导体行业作marketing，一直总摆脱不了Fab的情节，恐怕这样的背景很难在Fab 68找到相应的位置。

我看外企招聘是一个持续的过程，相信建成后Fab 68会每年都有招聘，即使我今年毕业了，也可以参加以后的社会招聘阿。

不过08年底大规模招聘，应该成功机会大一些。因为毕竟集中招聘的人数很多很多，据说1000多人呢。

Hi Versace, if you are interested in opportunities in Fab there are 2 areas that you may to focus on in automation. The first area is in mechanization. We transport our work in process around the factory on a rail based material handling system. The second area of focus that you may consider is software related. A lot of experiments about oversea technical support and new technology training like US, Germany,Taiwan,Malaysia.. Very strong process background both module process and integration and very farmilar at DRAM,LOGIC,Flash,Copper wiring with Low K(Dual damascene). What I want to kown what opportunity you can provide to local senior people like me or do I have opportunity to find better position in FAB68? After my blog about “F68 hiring strategy” published weeks ago, I have received many responses and questions, thanks for your interests. I think I may need to clarify something here.

As 1st Intel fab in Asia, F68 not only commits bring up a leading edge factory in China, but also commits to build up a strong local leadership team as well as local technical expertise. Considering the complexity of the technology, production process and the culture integration, I think it will take a long time for employee to learn, but we are committed to the long term. The value of real estate is keeping up since you came. It is good news for local people. In fact, it only take me up to ten minutes to reach Intel from my home on walk. So if I have chance to work for you, I needn’t take your workbus, and moreover, my maternity leave (6 months) can be also exempt because I have a child two years ago. So you can save a bit of employment cost if you use me. Of course, I know that is not the most important point for Intel to find and employ persons. Hi Kevin,

1. you are correct that we are going to be producing chipsets. We have not yet made a decision on the technology node that we will be manufacturing and will not make that decision for some time. We need to get closer to when the factory will be ready, and we will assess the overall product requirements for Intel before we make that decision. Just as we do in all of our factories across Intel, our intent is to constantly upgrade to newer technology nodes as time goes by. These decisions are driven by Intel’s overall market requirements.

2. There are 2 international schools in Dalian where our “expats” will be able to send their kids. We do have some overseas families that will be doing home schooling (common in the US). In addition, there are some that are intending to put their children in the local Chinese schools.

3. I believe that the best management style for manufacturing IC’s is the Intel style. Intel has factories all over the world, including China, and we have a core culture that is common through out all of those factories. Certainly there are local elements that are embedded in the core culture, but the expectations around safety, team work, personal responsibility, and execution are common in all of our factories.

My research interests focus on micromachining technology with femtosecond lasers, which are widely used to generate micro/nano structures on different materials. In September 2007, you mentioned before that it would take some time for fab68 to get internship positions in place for Fab 68. One year has almost past. Are there any internship positions available now? If so, would you please give us some suggestions on how I can apply for a suitable position?
