英特尔的环境健康与安全（EHS）承诺

上回博客我写了Fab 68之后，我觉得接下来要讲的最重要信息是：英特尔正致力于实现环境健康和安全（Environmental Health and Safety, EHS）。我今天的博客将专门谈这个话题，我想强调的是——英特尔在Fab 68中将全面实施英特尔在其他工厂中所实施的环境健康和安全战略。
下面是关于英特尔在世界各地实施的公司整体战略的摘录：
——英特尔致力于减少环境影响、提高效率。
——我们努力设计出有利于环境可持续发展的产品，同时为员工、承包商和社区提供安全、健康的工作环境。
——英特尔分享在环境保护方面好的做法，并与政府和其他公司合作创造一个更加可持续发展的世界，并在针对气候变化、资源保护、产品生态等方面的综合性、长期战略的制定中发挥领导作用。
——我们努力保护自然资源，通过减少废物产生和对空气、水土和陆地上的排放，以减少环境的负担。
——我们努力成为节约资源、资源再利用和循环利用方面的领导厂商，我们要求我们的员工采取措施，以安全和对环境无害的方法正确处理剩余废物。
——英特尔致力于成为我们所生活、工作的社区中的负责任的成员。
——我们承诺，不断努力改进运营，与员工、客户、供应商、我们所生活和工作的社区、科学界、政府和产业分享所取得的EHS经验。
英特尔环境、健康和安全的长期目标，体现为我们的三个EHS原则——防止工作场所的伤害，在社区和行业中成为环境、健康和安全方面的领导者，以及在产品、工艺和运作过程中减少对环境的影响。
为了实现这些原则，2007年，我们制定了新的公司整体环境目标。即在2010年之前：
——在2004年的水平上，将单位产品生产所产生的温室气体排放降低30%；
——将单位产品生产耗水控制在2005年以前的水平以下；
——将英特尔全球各地工厂所产生的化学和固体废物，70%以上进行循环利用；
——通过完成200多个对环境有利的运营、产品和社区项目实施，扩展我们生态效率战略的实施；
——在新的中央处理器（CPU）、芯片组和闪存产品中实现百分百无卤素。
在英特尔这样的公司里工作，其中一个最具有成就感的方面就是“结果导向”。我们不只是制定目标，我们不遗余力地实现这些目标。另外，英特尔在美国、欧洲和亚洲的公司均适用同样一套EHS规范要求和运营原则。
我们对自己所取得的成果感到自豪。2006年，我们所取得的重要成绩包括：
——尽管在这一领域英特尔已经处于世界领先水平，但是同2005年相比，英特尔还是进一步减少了工伤的严重程度，因公伤“缺勤”情况大为减少。
——英特尔世界各地工厂74%的固体废物和68%的化学废物得到了回收利用。
——从英特尔所处社区中回收和循环利用了130多万镑的电子垃圾。
英特尔在中国不断发展壮大，同时英特尔在华也有更强的EHS承诺。在EHS方面，英特尔最近在中国所做的工作包括：
——2006年4月世界地球日，在英特尔封装测试工厂所在地之一的四川成都，我们支持成都电视台举办了 “绿色家园智力挑战赛”。
——2007年，中国实施在电子产品中限制使用某些重金属和有潜在危害化合物的规定。英特尔一直与中国政府积极合作，确保达到这些环保要求，并作为EHS方面的引领者，已提前数年消除了这些有害物质的使用。
——我们推出符合LEEDS议定书要求的节能设计，在Fab 68园区的所有建筑中采用这些设计，同时希望成为中国其它地区效仿的榜样。

和计算机打交道的,不会不知道英特尔. 我喜欢它的技术,而且现在又在中国建厂了,我想对于我们来说它很可怕而且可敬. 即使,以后 AMD 会怎么样.我希望 INTEL 不要垄断. 不希望象 MICROSOFT 那样的傲.带给我们的不是实惠而是崩溃(盗版的技术).

诚如我们所知，芯片的生产过程中一定会用到化工原料，比如刻蚀，扩散等等。如果对于这些原料没有进行很好的控制，一定会对环境，社会和员工造成种种伤害。个人深信，作为一家有着几十年芯片制造经验的企业，英特尔早已拥有一套完善的环境健康安全体系与制成。因为fab68是英特尔第一次在中国投资建立的fab工厂，我想大家很好奇英特尔是具体怎样把自己的环境健康安全体系同中国的具体情况相结合以达到社会、企业的双赢呢？
As most of us knows, chemic material must be used for wafer manufacturing, such as etch, pervasion and etc. I believe, as an experienced corp for IC produce, Intel must already have a mature system for EHS. As Fab68 is the first wafer fabrication site inside China, we concerns how dose Intel combine the mature EHS procedure and chinese actual status together to get the win-win resule for both society and corp?

Hi Bob, I agree with your assessment that it will require a very sound management system to insure that we meet all of our expectations, and we have brought some of the very best in Intel onto our project. I am confident that we will continue to be a very positive example in China and in the rest of the world in regards to our commitment to EHS. Bruce, I did enjoy my vacation, but am glad to be back. You are correct that we must implement and develop a mature system for our EHS systems. This is one of the reasons that we will begin the factory with a fairly large number of experienced Intel employees from across our existing fabs. I anticipate that we will have a couple hundred employees relocating temporarily to Dalian to support the startup, and one of their key deliverables is to ensure that we implement and mature all of the required management processes, including our EHS processes. In time, we will return those employees back to their home factories, and Fab 68 management will be transferred to the local staff.

Hello Wafer. Thank you for your question. As I think you will be able to appreciate, we always look for the best blend of experience, language skills and academic background that we can. Our most ideal candidate will be someone that has all three aspects that you have identified, and we are hoping to find those candidates, and hope they want to work for Intel. We do look at all of our candidates on an individual basis and will fill all of our positions base on best overall fit. Because of this, it is impossible for me to identify one area of expertise over another. Kirby

Hello,Mr Jeffson glad to read your blog. I have come to F68 site for 8 months including my internship(graduated this year),taking responsibility for EHS of construction. it’s exciting what i experieced in pass 8 months’time and learned a lot from the site,especially mwz and intel EHS engineers. of couse,what I have recognised is just EHS for construction,but works done by intel EHS engineers in every single day,every meeting and every inspection makes me believe that the commitment intel has made is ture. I know, though you can say about the safety work f68 site is one of the best in china,but still far from perfect.however, what truly important is intel engineers are trying their best to tackle all of the problems and show respect to people(民工们）and environment. For me,i’m trying to grow up to be a excellent EHS,and I hope can be one of intel one day to live a better, more beautiful,fantastic life and make a contribution to our society and environment. enjoy you blog.
